Testimonials

Max Multisport's athletes love us. But don't take our word for it!

"I wanted to do a Triathlon. I knew how to swim, was a pretty good cyclist and was able to do a 5K but wasn’t sure if I could do it altogether. So I bought an outfit and away I go. I didn’t know the first thing about it. When I was in the bike shop I found an advertisement for MAX Multisport. I decided to sign up with them. The first night where you meet your coaches and team members, I was quite nervous and my thought was ‘What the heck am I doing here. I’m 51 years old.’ The coach’s told us about their training background and athletic accomplishments and I was quite impressed. I felt more comfortable because everyone has strengths and weaknesses it was going to be almost everyone’s first Tri.

Once the training began everything fell into place. The coaches were remarkable and we learned so many things. We met twice a week and the other days we worked out on our own and logged our workouts on line. The online log was really beneficial as there were also “coaches tips” videos. The more I learned, the more confident I felt and couldn’t wait until the next workout. Quickly I lost any concerns about my age.

By the time the triathlon came around we were ready. The day before the triathlon at the expo, we were picking up our packets listening to some of the others who didn’t have the training we did and they did not know what to except and were very nervous. It was then that I realized how well we were prepared.

The day of the triathlon a women asked what number is this for me and I answered my first. She told me how well my transition area was put together. I was relaxed and confident. It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I also finished in the top half of my age group and have signed up for two more. Max Mutisport was truly the best thing I could have done for myself."-Diane

"[Coach] Allison was a great [swim] teacher and I feel like I learned a lot to prepare me for the triathlon!" —Mary Claire

"Thanks to my great coach, I was able to take 13 minutes off my half-marathon time from the previous year!" — Emily

"The Bike Clinic was AWESOME! Both the speaker and the owner of the shop [where the clinic was held] were very informative. They answered every question no matter how woman specific or personal. Wish I had known a quarter of this stuff before I bought my bike last year. At least I can stop the ignorance madness now and be a savvy shopper when it comes to my bike! Thanks so much for putting this together and I can't wait for the next clinic!" — Judy

"Thanks to the help of my coach, I have finished my very first sprint triathlon. It wasn't easy for me though. Every athlete has one, maybe two disciplines that are very strong. I needed help with two; the swimming and biking. I didn't have a bike and couldn't swim a lap, but that didn't stop me.

I decided I needed help in accomplishing my goal of finishing a triathlon and decided to partner up with Max Multisport Coaching. The group and individualized weekly workouts have helped improve my technical skills plus increase my endurance." — Liz

"It was great to see you at the race cheering us on. Thanks for all your support during training and during the race! You really helped my body and mind get ready to do it!" — Annie

"I can't believe how far I've come since I [connected with Max Multisport]. I know if I do it more, I can only get better. I completed a full distance triathlon. I did not drown, thanks to you!  I owe that to you, because I really never could have swim 100 meters, let alone a mile without your coaching." — Martha

"I want to thank you so much for all of your help throughout my training.  You truly were an inspiring, motivating and one-of-a kind coach. You taught me so much and helped improve my swimming stroke, cycle leg and running stride astronomically! The fact that you were in-tune to individually help each of the athletes was phenomenal. Each one of us was at a different level, but you made sure to train us all in a way that we would personally be able to do our best on event day. The triathlon was super fun and it was a shot of encouragement to see you on the sidelines taking pictures and supporting me! I was just happy to be in an environment where thousands of athletes joined to accomplish the goal of finishing a race." — Natalia

"I would not have been as strong if I did not have you as a coach. Really! Early in the season, I was floundering and to be honest, I felt quite lazy. It helps to have the structured workouts, the accountability, the feedback and the support. Thanks!" — Ruth

"The program has absolutely helped me. I have never been so committed to training before. Having a plan that includes variety is keeping me interested as well as working out with others. This has been a great experience overall." — Lois

Thank you so much for making my first tri possible. Women such as you are so inspirational. Keep up the excellent progress. —Donna

I'm sure that at the year-end gathering everyone talked about their seasons and performances, and I'm hoping they thanked[the coaches]for everything that you did for them. I wanted to again thank you for the coaching, support, knowledge, training, etc. that you gave to me this year. It wasn't just that I absolutely would not have been able to complete this race [Ironman Arizona] without your help, but it was the fulfillment of a promise that I made to my younger brother. It meant an incredible amount to me and I'm probably not doing it justice.

[Also], I wanted to commit to continuing with you guys and seeing what a full year of training could do. I'm willing to give it my all in order to just see how far I can take this. K. Blake

Thanks for everything - loved the training and loved the Danskin! Thanks for making it such a great experience! —Kristen

Yesterday [July 9th Danskin] was a great experience. The whole 8 weeks was very helpful and inspiring.—Laurel

Thank you so much! Yesterday was amazing. I got so much "you go, girl" stuff along the course because my bike was such an anomaly that it was actually really fun to ride; AND I felt absolutely awesome during the run, I didn't have any of those leaden legs that I worried about.-Christine

Thank you for taking the time and effort to train all of us - but I am especially grateful to you for all your kind words of encouragement. You transformed me into an athlete. It is true that you don't come out the same woman as when you started. I know that I do have it in me to fight my demons and get that stupid gorilla off my back -- maybe now it's just a baby chimpanzee. Without a doubt, it was all a very personally rewarding experience and I know that I couldn't have done it without your help and the team leaders.Grace

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the open-water clinic on Saturday. You touched on all of the major questions I had and the drills were perfect because those are the things that make me most nervous (e.g., swimming with people right on top of you). I feel confident now returning to Ohio Street Beach to practice swimming again (when it is a little warmer!). My very first triathlon is in early August -- Tri for the Cure in Denver. I know I'll be well prepared. Many thanks for the clinic and your help.Julie Vieira

I wanted to thank you and Russ again for helping me throughout the ride yesterday.  It was the first time I went on a group ride.  I was a bit nervous at first. You guys made me feel really comfortable.  As you can tell, I have much to learn regarding the art of cycling! - Cecilia

I can't thank you enough for all your help, tips, guidance and motivation. I had an AWESOME race!!

ON Coaching:

I can't thank you enough for coming and cheering us on yesterday!  It turned out I was 53 minutes faster than last year and I won my age group!  I know it was a small race, but for some reason that gave me a whole new boost and motivation in my training. - Julie

I wanted to let you know that I did it! My time (2:39:58) was pretty wimpy compared to most others, but I was actually thrilled. I did think I was going to drown during the trip, which came as a complete surprise to me. I've never had trouble swimming and, in a pool, can basically swim as long as I want to without stopping. But the cold really messed me up physically and my wetsuit was too tight. Oi!

On the other hand, my run pace was the same as my pace on flat land before I met you two (10:20), which is pretty amazing on the hill (thank you, Renee, for all the form advice). On Friday, when I drove the course, I was absolutely sure that I couldn't do it...and, in fact, was sure that I'd never done it!!! But I did it with ease during the race. I was probably the only one happy about the wind (natural brakes - I wasn't scared for a moment). No falls, no getting off the bike, nutrition while riding....

This would never have happened without you. Seriously. I would have arrived on Friday and immediately packed it in. You gave me so much in such a short time, it's astounding.

This has been a very hard year for me with health challenges and huge personal and career shifts. Completing this race was something I really needed. So, I want you to know what a gift you gave me.

Thanks for everything. -Lyssa
